Goal of Search and Planning:

How can an agent find best decisions for a given particular situation?

Agents

• Agent: an entity that has goals, trying to perform a series of actions based on its perceptions.

• Rational Agents: perform the action that yield the best expected outcome.

• Reflex Agents: choose action based on current perception (and maybe memory). Does not consider the future consequences of their actions. Consider only how the world currently IS.

• Planning Agents: Asks “what if”. Decisions are based on consequences of actions, Consider how the world would be.

Environments

• Partially Observable: no full information of the state
• Stochastic: multiple possible outcomes
• Multi-agent: agent acts along with other agents
• Dynamic: environment changes as the agent interacts with them
